Here at Brainstorm we provide Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) access for all sites. You’ll find your SFTP details in your site’s Brainstorm Control Panel.
Getting your SFTP details
To get started log in at https://www.brainstorm.co and click the name of the site for which you would like the SFTP details.
In the navigation bar, click on the Users/FTP icon:
In this area you will see all of the users who have access to your website. This is also where you’ll find your SFTP log in details. The available details are:
- SFTP URL
- SFTP port
- your username
- your password
Please keep in mind, the username and password will not be the same as your Brainstorm log in information.
Resetting Your Password
The first time you log in you will need to reset your password. Do this by clicking the Reset Password link. You can also do this any time to reset your password. These credentials may take a few minutes to start working.
Owners and Collaborators
We support two types of SFTP users on Brainstorm, Owners and Collaborators.
An owner is the user who owns the account. This user will see all the sites they own when logged in via SFTP. For security, please never give the owner password out. If you’re working with someone on your site set the user as a collaborator instead.
A Collaborator is site specific. If you’d like to give the same user access to multiple sites they will need to be invited to each site. This user can also be removed by the owner at anytime. If you are the owner and someone is helping you with your site we strongly recommend using the collaborator role.
Adding a Collaborators
To add a collaborator to your site, fill out the form entering the email address and WordPress username you’d like for the user. Once the Add Collaborator button has be clicked we’ll go to work setting things up sending an email to the collaborator once we’re done.
